a bit about me and my teaching style
¡HOLA! I am lourdes, your spanish teacher
As a native Spaniard who has lived in several countries, I bring a variety of perspectives and experiences to our lessons:
I trained as a teacher of Spanish as a foreign language at the Instituto Cervantes in Utrecht and later became an accredited DELE examiner (levels A1 to C1). This background gives me a clear understanding of what’s expected at each proficiency level — whether you’re preparing for official exams or simply want to track your progress with confidence.
Before becoming a teacher, I spent ten years working as a geologist in the resource industry. That experience helps me connect with professionals and understand the language of the workplace. It allows me to design classes that are not just about grammar or vocabulary, but about navigating real interactions — in meetings, emails, and cross-cultural situations.
In addition, I also studied graphic design — adding creativity and a visual touch to the way I teach.
What truly motivates me is the connection I build with my students: learning together and seeing their progress. I believe language learning should be purposeful, personal, and also fun.
Would you like to learn Spanish with me?
